Downtown Findlay
Revitalizing our Downtown - One Building at a Time!
These are trying times for our community and most certainly our historic and beautiful downtown. While valiant efforts are underway to resurrect our community as a whole, the critical necessity to maintain the vitality of a troubled downtown is incumbent on the members of the Downtown Findlay Improvement District (DFID) and the Findlay Downtown Area Association (FDAA).
For many years, downtown Findlay has been the envy of central business districts everywhere. Through the Emerging Main Street program, downtown Findlay continues to be a model for other communities, looking to revitalize their urban cores. Competing with a growing retail segment on the east side of Findlay, and the emergence of the newest retail and service spaces on the west side, the need to refocus our energies into a vibrant and active downtown core are ever critical. Combine these competitive forces with the uncertainty of flood-related issues, the numerous available retail and office spaces in our downtown, as well as the recent fire in the beloved Argyle building, and its clear the combined efforts of these groups, our supporters, and our volunteers is a necessity to the vitality of downtown Findlay.
Our goal is simple: increase traffic to downtown Findlay, increase property values, and increase the standard of living for our community. We will be one voice, to stand up for our district, our downtown, and our city.
Downtown Findlay has so much to offer in the way of activities for people of all ages. It was recently voted 6th micropolitan community in the United States, a big distinguishment for our town. Through the continued efforts of our appointed boards, and the Hancock Regional Planning Commission, who is actively studying and surveying our downtown and local citizens in hopes to develop a complete revitalization plan, the infrastructure, design, and promotions of the heart of our city will continue to see growth and development abound.
